Sweet success for latest business to move into Evolution Park

A successful confectionary company has made Darlington’s newest business park its ‘Home Sweet Home’ as part of its business growth. JJ’s Big Tops Ltd has settled into a new warehouse and distribution centre at Evolution Business Park, two miles from Darlington’s city centre.

The sweet seller is owned by North-East businessman Jamie Johnson, who has an existing, award-winning sweet shop business JJ Sweet Surprise in Middlesbrough’s Hill Street Shopping Centre. Jamie and his team will now supply both wholesale and retail customers, via the Big Tops and Sweet Surprise brands, from their new unit.

Keys to the door at Unit 8, Evolution Park

Online sales have increased over the last few years and the additional premises, along with new e-commerce website coming soon, will enable Jamie to meet more of that growing demand. Staff at the unit will pick and pack traditional sweets, chews, gums, fizzes and hundreds of other family favourites. The business also offers gift options, bespoke selection packs and a wide range of vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free and sugar-free sweets.

Evolution Park’s 2,005 sqft unit is the perfect fit for the business as it provides a bright, clean and safe environment for sorting and packaging freshly-packed sweets which are hand-picked from air-tight storage containers and bagged to order to ensure maximum freshness.

JJ Big Tops (visit them on Facebook / Facebook) also supplies sweet pouches to North Yorkshire family visitor attraction, Stockeld Park. JJ's Big Tops LTD is based at Unit 8, Evolution Business Park, DL1 4Q, off Yarm Road via the Travel Lodge and Toby Carvery.
