Fundraising superheroes to assemble wearing ‘Priority Capes’
Priority Space has covered the cost of hundreds of superhero capes for families to wear at a charity event next month.
The SUPERHERO WALK organised by the Children’s Heart Surgery Fund (CHSF)’s will take place on Sunday 8th September at Leeds Headingley Stadium.
This annual fundraiser and family fun day raises money for the Leeds Congenital Heart Unit (LCHU) at Leeds Children’s Hospital and is attended by children born with heart problems, their families and friends.
This year, for the first time, the sponsored walkers will be able to wear brightly coloured capes to help them fly around the stadium’s concourse!
Director of Priority Space Adam Richardson said: “The capes are a new idea to add even more to the fun experience for the children involved, many of whom are patients, or the brothers, sisters and friends of patients.
“We hope they all have a great day and raise lots for money for this very worthwhile cause.”
Priority Space is a long-standing corporate sponsor of the Children’s Heart Surgery Fund and has previously made donations to refurbish a sensory play room in the specialist ward at Leeds Hospital, cover upkeep of a therapeutic fish tank in its waiting room and fund a Christmas party for the families affected by congenital heart disease conditions.
This donation will pay for robust and reusable capes which will printed in CHSF’s familiar vibrant colours – but no Priority Space sponsor’s logos - so that they can be re-used year on year by the sustainable superheroes. Good for the fun event and good for the planet too. Priority Space were more than happy to support this eco-warrior green design.
CHSF’s Corporate Partnerships Manager Amanda Warrent said: “The Superhero Walk is a great family day out and we thought the capes would add a lovely touch to the event and make it even more special for the families involved.
“We’d like to thank Priority Space so much for all their support in sponsorship for CHSF over the years, we are truly grateful.”
Over 17,000 babies and children born with heart defects receive life-saving surgery, outpatient treatment and specialist care at the Leeds Congenital Heart Unit each year. CHSF, Priority Space’s charity partner, provides vital medical equipment and family support.
